Aerospace-Grade Digital video interface (dvi) cable tested and Invested

PIC Wire & Cable's DVI1226, engineered and rigorously tested to meet the strict DVI requirements for high-resolution digital video in demanding aerospace conditions.

Designed in direct response to voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback, the DVI1226* addresses common pain points in cable termination and grounding. Customers reported challenges with grounding integrity and the time-consuming process of installing traditional shield terminators. In response, PIC developed a cable construction with superior grounding paths and built-in drain wires—eliminating the need for shield terminators altogether.

Each of the four TMDS differential pairs is individually shielded and includes a dedicated drain wire to provide robust protection against EMI while enabling faster, cleaner, and less bulky terminations. The conductors are stranded, silver-plated copper, delivering flexibility and durability per ASTM B624 standards, while the laser-markable jacket ensures long-term traceability and identification.

Designed with the rigors of aerospace in mind, the DVI1226* delivers reliable digital video signals up to 20 feet, supporting in-flight entertainment systems, flight deck displays, mission-critical video, and advanced weather mapping. To ensure signal integrity and electrical performance, PIC’s in-house assembly services test each cable on a 4-port analyzer configured specifically for DVI.

Whether you’re designing for military or civil aircraft, the DVI1226* provides the rugged performance, simplified installation, and high-speed capability needed for today’s connected cockpit and cabin systems.

*Note, handshake must be handled via TMDS lines to be used in a DVI-D application. If your application requires a DVI assembly with auxilary lines (HDP, + 5V, etc.) please see our H1926-HS

Frequnetly Asked Questions About DVI

Open AllClose All
Why are drain wires superior at protecting against EMI?

Running the length of the twisted pair, our drain wire is shielded to prevent cross talk.

Why is DVI an option for video on mission computers?

The barrier to entry is minimal, an easy option to implement, well understood and a cost effective solution.

How do you test your cable assemblies?

PIC Wire & Cable has a 4-port analyzer and DVI breakout boards. We can provide fully tested and serialized cable assemblies that meet DVI and industry standards.
